Make Sure You Meet With All Decision Makers

BEWARE!!  One of the biggest MISTAKES we see agents make...

Here is a big mistake you don't want to make when booking appointments.

This is a mistake that we see a lot of agents make when they are setting up appointments…and that is not making sure that you’re going to be meeting with all the decision makers

Hi, I’m Brandon Polsinello from RE/MAX …and this is mistake that I’ve made personally and learned the hard way early on in my real estate career that you need to have all the decision makers there.

I was contacted by a lady that wanted a home evaluation done on her house…beautiful custom built bungalow in a great, lakeside community I met with her, did our listing presentation and showed her everything that we were going to do to market and sell her home and she loved it!

I was excited, she was excited but as I was leaving she said I’m going to speak with my husband about everything and then we can get started. 

I didn’t think anything of it at the time but when I followed up the next day I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that I was not getting the listing…

The husband wanted to work with someone and never had the opportunity to show him why we were the right choice because I didn’t set the appointment will all the decision makers.

Now in this situation commission was also a factor…

and I was able to still salvage a sale because the wife had an investment property that she also wanted sold and I was able to handle that for her but it still stung that I missed out on the sale of their home

This is something that you really need to focus on when you setting up appointments - make sure all the decision makers are there.

Don’t think you’re going to be able to sit down with one decision maker and articulate your value and the benefits of working you only to have someone else come in and say… ‘what price did they give you, what commission?’ and have them choose based on that.
